November 5- Isaiah 43:25

THE VERSE

I, I am he who blots our your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.
~Isaiah 43:25

THE THOUGHT

This is remarkable. The omniscient, all-knowing, eternal God, who controls and oversees all things, who sees every action and motive of the heart, says that He will forget sin. Hallelujah- God forgets sin! The entire record of debt against us has been erased, the slate wiped clean. The forgetfulness of God is the bedrock of our hope and the joy of the Christian life. Every one of our sins, every act of rebellion against God, every arrogant thought and unkind wunkind as punished on Jesus' cross, buried with Him, and left in His tomb. They no longer condemn us, because they have been forgotten by God.

Though we may remember our sins, God has forgotten them. When condemnation arises, when your past comes back to haunt you, flee to the forgetfulness of God as your refuge. There is no condemnation, there is no judgment, for those in Christ Jesus. Preach the gospel to yourself by reminding yourself daily of the forgetfulness of God, of the amnesia of grace, that covers and accepts you.

When Satan tempts me to despair
Or tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin

THE PRAYER

Jesus, Thank you for all You have done for me. You have taken my punishment and my sin, absorbing all the eternal consequences of my folly and rebellion, and have died the death I deserve in my place. What love! That you for making a way for Your holy Father to forget all my sin, so that I could be remembered forever.

THE QUOTE

“Here is revelation bright as the evening star: Jesus comes for sinners, for those as outcast as tax collectors and for those caught up in squalid choices and failed dreams. He comes for those corporate executives, street people, superstars, farmers, hookers, addicts, IRS agents, AIDS victims, and even used car salesmen."  ~Brennan Manning
