THE VERSE
Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."~Matthew 28:18-20
THE THOUGHT
In today's continuing study of Missions, we will look at the command: "Go and make disciples." It seems obvious, but it may be helpful to highlight the fact that this is a command. As John Piper points out, "There are three possibilities with the Great Commission. You can go. You can send. Or you can be disobedient." These are the only options. There is no such thing as a Christian not called to missions- you are either called to active evangelism in your work place or school or home coupled with sacrificial sending of foreign missionaries with your financial resources, or you are called to go to the nations with the good news of salvation.Take time today to seriously and prayerfully consider where God is calling you, because He is calling you. Will you go? Will you send? Or will you be disobedient?
THE PRAYER
Dear God, Open my heart to the call of Your Gospel, and give me faith to follow Your leading. I want to go where You send me and say what You tell me, and be Your servant here and around the world. Here am I; send me!EXTENDED READING
